Company
Founded in 1986 Trekking Parapentes is the oldest paragliding manufacturer in the world still in operation. Our wings are designed and made in our own factory in France. This gives us complete control of our manufacturing, and you the opportunity for custom colour schemes!
Our philosophy is to maximise flying pleasure and durability, whilst keeping prices very competitive.
After Sales Service is provided by Horizon Réparation located near Montpellier, southern France.

Our mission:
A - To build paragliding wings of the highest quality, combining good performance with durability.
B - To offer accessible prices which enable the largest number of pilots to purchase their own flying equipment.
C - To give outstanding after-sales service.
A - the highest quality
We build our wings with the best materials on the market:
- Porcher Sport fabric – produced by the number 1 fabric supplier in the paragliding industry.
- Lines by Edelrid – who sets the standard in the sector.
- Riser webbing by Güth & Wolf, Germany, and Cousin, France.
- Stainless steel maillons by Peguet, France.
- Sewing thread by Amman, Germany.
Our production methods are top notch:
- Fabric components are cut out by laser. This is slower than mechanical cutting, but results in much better accuracy.
- Assembly with double needle stitching – this makes the wings easy to repair.
- Robot controlled sewing of line attachment points.
- Each wing is tested by ground handling, as well as laser testing of line lengths.
B – Accessible prices – How are Trekking wings so affordable?
- By using production techniques which minimise wastage of materials and rationalise assembly:
- Laser CNC cutting reduces fabric wastage by 15%. Fabric costs make up 45% of the cost of a wing. The laser cut pieces are more accurate, which in turn makes assembly easier and faster.
- Double needle sewing is strong, quick, and precise.
- Robot controlled sewing saves time and produces a more consistent result.
- European sourcing and production reduces transport costs by around 50% - this represents around 10% of the cost of a wing. The advantages are both economic and environmental.
- We maintain a lean supply chain – avoiding middle-men and excess stock. That keeps mark-ups and finance costs low, resulting in a price that is both attractive for the pilot and sustainable for the producer. That is why we choose to sell our wings directly via our website.
C – Outstanding after sales service
After sales service is provided by Horizon-Réparation, who have been testing and repairing paragliders in Frace for more than 12 years. Having serviced thousands of wings, they have immense experience in how paragliders grow old and what to look for when servicing.
